The connection between your (IBM) computer and the Hitachi PLC is done with one piece cables or through different combinations of cables.

The ACTCAB-MAIN/EB cable is always present. This cable is 2m long. The other cables are much shorter (10-30cm). The ACTCAB-9/25 is only needed if your computer has a 9 pin serial connector. Otherwise it is not needed.
The other cables (ACTCAB-H, -EM3, -PGMJR, -EC) are connected in the PLC end of ACTCAB-MAIN/EB depending on which PLC is used. Only the cable is designed for the used PLC is necessary. To connect to series EB COM port, no cable other cable except ACTCAB-MAIN/EB is needed.
