Software : Actron A.B.
First, so there is no confusion, Actron A.B. is the "globally recognized software creator partner" for HITACHI.
Actron has been producing software for Hitachi PLCs for 30+ years. Actron software (specifically, ActSip) was brand labeled by Reliance Electric and promoted as "Shark Programming Executive" (SPX). ActSip was also brand labeled by Furnas Electric and sold as MacLola and MacLola Plus. The current version of ActSip will support Reliance Shark and Furnas 96M PLCs.
There are three basic packages offered.
ActSip is the name of the DOS based package and programs in Instruction Set (IS) or Ladder Logic (LD).
ActWin is the name of the Windows® based package and programs in IEC61131 (or Hitachi specific) Ladder.
ActGraph is DOS based, and programs in IEC848 "Grafcet".
Next, because Hitachi originally produced two separate lines of PLCs (E series and H series), there are two sets of drivers. Each of the packages (above) are available with drivers for E series or H series. Please be sure to specify which driver set you want when ordering.
PLEASE NOTE: For EVALUATION PURPOSES, we offer an free download of ActWin-H.
By "DEMO", we mean that you will be able to upload, download and monitor your projects on a PLC.
However, the number of "ladder rungs" is limited to something under 40. To unlock the full functionality of the software you must purchase it. These are Licensed Software packages- NOT freeware or shareware. If you have any questions regarding this, contact us at software@lighthouseplcs.com

ActWin has been designed to support different PLCs and other programmable control systems. It has a modern 32 bit object-oriented design. The inner part of ActWin, the kernel, is the main part of the system. It is completely separated from the drivers and the languages. ActWin runs under Windows 95/98,ME, NT, W2K, XP. The Drivers are individual interfaces to the different controllers. They take care of the code conversion from the internal and general format inside ActWin. The drivers also take care of the communication. This means that different drivers can be used in different applications without changing the ActWin kernel or the language support. The languages are separated from the ActWin kernel too. As a standard there are the IEC1131-3 types. But ActWin also allows specific PLC languages. Available As: |

For E-Series Hitachi PLCs (DOS): E248E.zip (Please note that this software is not provided by Hitachi, and is a demo version only. You will not be able to upload, download nor monitor your projects on a PLC. The full functionality of the software is available with purchase.) |
ActSip Actsip-E Ladder and instruction programming for series E, EB, EC and EM(II). This module allows making the PLC project on screen, either in ladder diagram or instruction list. It is easy to switch between these two methods of programming. In the ladder diagram a large background screen is used, which can be scrolled in all directions. This means that the physical computer screen is not a limitation. There is also plenty of space for comments to all instruction blocks, which is important for documentation and understanding the project. |

Actsip-H Ladder and instruction programming for series H (H20-64, H200-252, H300-H2002). This module corresponds to Actsip-E for the more powerful H series. The way to construct the project is identical, as are menus and the help system. Only where extensions have to be made because of differences in the PLC’s, the handling differs. There is automatic allocation, macro functions and flexible entering of comments. Since the programming of H series allows large projects these functions are of even greater economical value here. The documentation and printouts are also here first class. As help in the programming, there are a lot of powerful "arithmetic instructions". To select between these, there is an on screen help box. Configuration of the PLC is simple and particularly at ON-LINE programming the configuration is automatic. All types of configuration can be handled, from simple to complex networks. Work can be done either OFF-LINE or ON-LINE using an address to any unit in the network. Due to the large number of I/O in the H series, a well tried database driver is used. This means that very large projects can be done without long delays in the program. It also means a maximum safety concerning program errors and lost data. |

ActGraph Grafcet programming for series E, EB, EC, EM(II) and series H (H20-64, H200-252, H300-H2002). This module is a stand alone programming system for all PLC in the Hitachi family, where the center of the programming is "Grafcet" as the widely accepted standard IEC 848. Programming is done by building the Grafcet directly on screen. This way of visualizing a process to control flow is very close to the human way of thinking at construction, description and documentation. Thanks to this, users save a lot of time and resources using this tool, even compared to other Actsip tools. Grafcet is optimal for sequential control, graphs. Control of a more parallel nature, e.g. separate regulators, are made with logic boxes and macro boxes, programmed in Boolean expressions and in PLC instructions. The project can zoomed up or down to show more or less detailed information. The project can be PLC independently. Graphs, logic boxes and macro boxes can be combined freely. After selecting PLC, coding and transfer to PLC is done. The project status can be monitored on screen directly in the graphs. |
Where, you might ask, is Hitachi's Ladder Editor for Windows (LEW) and PRO-H ???
Good Question!!!
